DESCRIPTION:Our Fly Tying 101 is a great introduction to the lifelong pursuit of fly tying if you’ve always wanted to learn to tie your own flies but don’t know where to start.  We are now offering Fly Tying 101 as a FREE introductory lesson\, with expert instruction and all tools/materials supplied.  In this class\, you will learn to start a fly\, wrap thread\, attach and wrap materials\, and tie off a fly.  Any flies tied by you are yours to take home and use yourself! \nTying your own flies is a great way to learn more about what is going on in a river and help you become a more successful fisherman. \nPreregistration is required\, as the class is limited to 4 people. Please call us at 970-385-4081 to register. If 4 people register\, you will be added to our next available class. If you have not registered and you show up the day of the class and we are full\, you will be turned away\, so call to register and ensure you have a spot!

DESCRIPTION:“Why don’t I see anyone fishing the Animas?”  “Are there any fish in the Animas?”  “Why can’t I catch anything?” \nWe hear these questions every day\, and often it comes down to how you are setting up your nymph rig for the Animas River. \nIt has been said that 90% of a trout’s diet comes from subsurface food sources.  It has also been said that 10% of anglers catch 90% of the fish.  The reason may be that most anglers are only fishing in the top third of the water depth (as some have said). \n90% subsurface\, 10% anglers\, 1/3rd water depth?  What does it all mean? \nIt doesn’t matter\, as this clinic aims to put you in the top 10% of anglers by teaching you the subtle (or not so subtle) art of fishing with a nymph rig on the Animas.  Join us and learn how to set up a proper classic nymph rig for the waters in our local river.  Learn how to get your rigging\, depth\, weight\, and even fly selection right to increase your chances of catching more fish. \nThis clinic is free!  Bring a friend who needs to catch a fish on the Animas.
