This year’s Fly Fishing Festival was a great success. On April 5th and 6th, we were treated with tying demos, classes on stream side entomology, casting lessons, prize drawings, and the Fly Fishing Film tour. For beginning fly caster to the expert guide; there was something for everyone to enjoy and learn. We are already looking forward to next year! Here are a few photos from the two days of fun:

Friday night we were treated to an introduction to entomology by Robert Younghanz aka“The Bug Guy” at The Lost Dog Bar & Grill. Check out the-bug-guy.com

Drawings were held all day for those who attended. Maiti won a new pair of Action Optics polarized fishing shades.

Saturday started out with doorbuster sales at the shop and owner John Flick demonstrating the finer points of spinning and flaring hair when fly tying.

Memorial Park was the venue for “The Bug Guy” hands on presentation. All in attendance were given the opportunity to examine and collect aquatic insects from the Animas river.

Also at Memorial Park was fly casting demos and instruction from our Sage and Scott rod reps, Van and Frank. Not to mention a ladies only fly casting clinic by Duranglers own Glenn Tinnin.

Finally, the day was concluded with a viewing of the Fly Fishing Film Tour at the Durango Art Center. Good films with good friends.
