We recently hosted a group of anglers to Christmas Island through Christmas Island Outfitters this past February. Christmas Island is a remote atoll in the Pacific ocean that lies about 120 miles north of the equator. Target species are bonefish, trevally, triggerfish and a myriad of other species. We experienced everything Christmas Island had to offer and even got to do some bluewater fishing for tuna, sailfish, and wahoo.
The flats fishing was incredible with tons of bonefish caught, and everyone catching the fabled Giant Trevally. Christmas Island has something to offer for anglers of any skill level and can be a great first Saltwater trip. Most of the fishing is done by wading the flats and the skilled guides can get you on fish. If you are a more experienced saltwater angler then you can target more challenging species such as the G.T. or triggerfish. Triggers are a tricky fish that can be spooky and tough to land and will challenge even the most experienced anglers.
We are putting together another Christmas Island trip for next February 4-11, 2020. If you are interested check out the full trip page or contact Rob at 970-385-4081 or [email protected].
And make sure you watch the recap video of our trip too!
