Used to be (back in the day as they say), that fly fishing was largely a “man’s sport”.  Unless your name was Joan Wulff, women were largely unrepresented in the world of fly angling; and thereby fly fishing gear.  Fly fishing was also seen as a “rich man’s sport” back in the day as well, and we know that with the advent of feature rich gear at low price points; fly angling is no longer left to the elite.  And thanks to fly fishing companies recognizing that fly angling is not just “boy’s fun”, there is a a slew of great gear that is coming out that was purpose built for the women angler.

This gear is tailor  fit for the feminine fly fisher form and is built with the demanding standards that any piece of fly fishing gear should be constructed.  It should go without saying, but if it is a cheap piece of crap, we wont carry it.

Fly Rods

So what makes a women’s specific fly rod “women’s specific”.  In all honesty, it’s the grip.  With a smaller diameter grip, women’s specific fly rods fit well in a women’s hand (that is for women with smaller grips anyway).  Tailor built for women angler’s, the Sage GRACE outfit comes in all pink with a pink RIO Gold line and Sage 3200.  The Scott Women’s A4 fly rod is slightly more subtle with only pink accents.  Both rods are made right here in the U.S.A. and offer outstanding performance
