Did We Just See Peak Flows?
It seems we did just see peak flows, only time will tell over the next few days. However, our daily peak today did not reach the height yesterday. Plus, it looks like our snowpack is sitting at exactly the yearly average. We could be seeing the downslope of runoff folks! Watch the flows on the USGS site yourself over the next few days.
In other Animas related news, we may have had our humble but none the less encouraging salmonfly hatch in the past few days. While usually coinciding with high water, it’s still good to see the big bugs on the Animas.
Watch for clearing water in the coming weeks, and get ready…full on summer fly fishing is just about here. Make sure you are stocked up on Dry Flies too; you don’t want to be caught without.
