The EP Pike Fly was modeled after the classic Enrico Puglisi Peanut Butter saltwater fly, but sized up for our local pike fisheries. All things considered, this fly is pretty easy to cast compared to many pike flies out there. It also holds up better to toothy mouths being tied out of all synthetic (and a healthy amount of Zap-a-Gap. It has become one of our favorite flies to throw when fly fishing for pike.
We don’t actually cover gluing eyes on this fly in this video, however, we typically attached them using Zap Gel. I have found that this fly does not actually NEED eyes and catches fish with or without them.
