With the warming days of early spring the surface water temps on Navajo Reservoir have been pushing above 40 degrees. This is good news for fly fishing Pike anglers because the warming water temps will bring Pike into shallow water. Our other Pike fisheries should open up soon. Expect the ice to come off Totton Reservoir by late March and Vallecito Reservoir by early April. Duranglers guide Mark Engler caught this Pike last week at Navajo.
Mark will also be giving a Pike Fly Fishing Clinic April 2, 2011 at 8:30 am at the shop. So come on down to the shop and learn more about catching these toothy critters. This is just one of many events during our Fly Fishing Festival.
That pike is a beast, hide yo kids hide yo wife!
