Sage did a fantastic job with the SENSE fly rod thinking through what would make a great tactical nymphing rod and implemented some well-thought-out features. The first ceramic guide is a little lower on the blank, meaning it is closer to the cork to help reduce line sag from the reel and give the angler a tighter and straighter connection. An all matte black finish with black thread wraps and lettering gives the Sage SENSE a stealthy low-reflective styling. A down locking reel seat to better balance the longer rod for tight line nymphing techniques finish out this well-thought-out nymphing package.
The Sage SENSE was also built to be fished with a true-to-line weight fly line such as the Rio Technical Trout or Rio Gold for situations that call for a longer cast or when the fish are looking up!
