My buddy John Munn and I decided to check out the San Juan today and do a little wade fishing. The River fished great! Nothing on top but indicator fishing with size 22 red and cream larva did the trick. Most people don’t think of the San Juan as wade fishable at these flows but if you are committed to figure it out you can find some great fish. Or hire a Duranglers guide and learn it quicker.
Flows will stay at 5000 CFS through tomorrow and will start down Wednesday. By late in the day Friday 6/17/11 flows should be back to 500 CFS.
