Icelandic Horse Mane is a long, coarse, and unique material that can be used to add some color and length to big pike, musky, dorado, GT, and saltwater flies. Acts similar to bucktail and works great in hollow tied baitfish. It can also be soaked in warm water for 10 minutes and used as ribbing bodies on nymphs, chironomids, and dries. A sweet natural alternative for Super Hair.
Not a commonly found fly tying material Icelandic Horse Mane comes in clumps about 3/4″ diameter bunched together and the average length is 14″, but ranges from 12″-20″. We came into possession of a small collection of this unique material, and it is very limited. We won’t get more when this runs out.
