Description
Snowrunner Nayat Hair (or just known as Nayat) is a new addition to the Duranglers fly tying selection and has quickly become one of our favorite materials for tying big flies. Difficult to find domestically here in the USA, the hair is slightly stiffer and more translucent than other natural big fly materials, and sheds water better than Icelandic Sheep. Nayat is great for big predator flies when targeting pike, bass, musky, and golden dorado, along with saltwater baitfish flies when chasing giant trevally, tarpon, snook, redfish, roosterfish, and any other predatory fish. It also makes for wonderful hair wings on streamers and swing flies for steelhead and salmon.
The under-fur is very usable and the shorter guard hair has a texture similar to polar bear and fox, both of which have awesome uses for dubbing and wings on smaller wet flies, streamers, and steelhead flies. One patch will suffice for many wings making it a very cost-effective material.
Comes in a 3×3 patch with tons of usable material as a little goes a long way. Due to the limited nature of this natural hair, length can vary but averages 5-6″ long.
We have also done the prep work on each of these patches by combing and ironing each patch for you, so you don’t have to!
