With many models being built by even one manufacturer, there are truly a ton on the market right now. We know a lot of anglers may not put the thought or consideration into what line they are putting on their rod, they just want something that works to catch fish!
To be sure, most modern fly lines will work great to catch fish, and any line is better than no line. However, being in the fly shop biz, we have come to find that the proper fly line can truly make a fly rod sing! Like a finely tuned instrument, a fairly bland fly rod can be made to be a great rod with the right line…and a great rod paired with the right fly line is a thing of beauty!
In this video, we unpack one of our favorite fly line manufacturers: Scientific Anglers, and we discuss our 3 favorite fly line tapers for trout fishing: the Trout, MPX, and Infinity along with the technology used to build them including the Mastery Series, Amplitude, and Amplitude Smooth. From moderate to fast action fly rods; dries, nymphs, or streamers for trout, these lines have will have something for every angler.
