Animas Lunch Report 3/19/14 – Get Legal
Round 3, go!
Andy – The Animas River is at 649 CFS and still off color. Also rain and thunder is moving in as I write this.
If I could do whatever I wanted right now, I would probably drive over to the Rio Grande and do some spey casting and swing streamers between South Fork and Del Norte. Turns out I can’t do whatever I want so I won’t be doing that today. It would be awesome though, the flows on the Rio have come up in the past few days and while it may be off color; a well placed and swung black streamer would probably get some love.
Also, March 31st is the last day of the licence year, so get legal. Make sure to get your Colorado and New Mexico fishing licences before April 1st otherwise you will be fishing illegally. You don’t want to be fishing illegally. You can get a ticket or fine. Plus the DOW officers carry an arsenal of weaponry in their trucks that Rambo would be proud of.
