Animas Lunch Report – 3/28/16 – Snow and Rain

Leporad head Andy McKinley Duranglers Animas River Fly Fishing

We had a little snow and rain over the Easter weekend.  It looks like more is rolling into Durango any minute.  Tomorrow should be the same.  Bring it on.

Thanks to the weather, we saw a slight bump in the flows today…which isn’t saying much because they were coming down anyway.  These next few days could see some very excellent baetis hatches.  Keep an eye out for the Blue Wing.  Otherwise, tie up a double nymph rig using with the right stuff (remember NKOTB?).  The right stuff being Prince Nymphs, Caddis Larva, Rainbow Warriors, Flashback Pheasant Tails, and Micro Mays.

Otherwise, streamers.  Always have streamers to throw in spring.
