Here is a quick preview of the 2015 Duranglers spring line, sure to turn some heads…

Andy – It looks like the Animas could be leveling out at around 865 cfs for the moment. Water clarity might look bad at first glance, but there is about 2 feet of visibility. Throw some big bugs and hopefully hitch a ride to brown town. Or go throw some big bugs at Vallecito right now…
John – Currently the Animas is a nice shade of gray green, go find you a brown!
Kyle – Spent his lunch break at the park casting a 9 wt. He his practicing speed and precision with casing long distances using larger rods. It is really windy here in Durango right now: the perfect conditions for saltwater fly fishing cast practice. “You don’t want your first cast with that 9 weight into the wind to be when you have a shot at permit, 80 feet and closing.” Football players don’t have an off season, neither should you…unless catching a fish isn’t your MAIN goal after spending a few thousand dollars to fly halfway around the world to some premier fishing destination. You don’t need any practice to relax on the beach.
If you are unsure about where to start with your saltwater casting, make it a point to meet us this Saturday at 11:00 am at Santa Rita Park for Erik Johnson’s “Advanced Casting for Saltwater and Big Game Species“. Eric is our sales rep for Sage Fly Rods; so stop by and learn some tricks to make casting larger rods easier and more effective.
