Animas Lunch Report – 4/8/15 – Streamer Game
Les’s proper set up for the Animas right now.
The Animas has been holding at about 620 the past few days. When we get these leveled flows, spring fishing picks up considerably.
Crazy Mike – The past few days has been really good float fishing on the Animas with streamers. Olive seems to be the ticket and we have been boating a fair amount of really good sized fish. We have even seen a few monsters. Look for fish holding in heavy water.
Andy – While the streamer game is picking up, I wouldn’t forsake nymph fishing just yet. The river has still been pretty cold and a lot of fish are holding in deep water. Small baetis nymphs and stonefly nymphs are going to be a good bet. Watch for afternoon BWO hatches which can ignite the dry fly action.
