Animas Lunch Report – 4/9/15 – 81301 Coffee
This is the fifth spring day in a row that the Animas has held at just around 620 cfs. The clarity is fantastic and BWOs are starting to show up. The constant report is if you are not seeing risers, fish streamers.
If you are going to get out within the next few days, make sure to check out our Durango Area Rivers Report.
Jake – Managed a solid bow on a streamer yesterday float fishing with Les.
Kyle – Kyle is spending his lunch break strip-mining bonefish flies for their raw materials – with no remorse.
Andy – You know, it may be futile, but I am still throwing my spey rod and swinging streamers through town. I have not seen a whole lot a fish. Most fish are being caught in the Gold medal section on down to the state line on the Ute property. Nymphing is always a good idea too. Try chocolate RS-2s and Brown Baetis Nymphs.
On a totally different note, have you visited 81301 Coffee Roasters here in Durango? Located on North Main in the same strip as Zia Taqueria; Sage and Taylor roast their own beans in-house and have a unique “Pour Over” coffee set up for their brew. Seriously, it is the best tasting cup of coffee you will find in town…not to mention they have the some of the best prices too!
