Animas Lunch Report – 6/18/15 – Meat Whistle
Here is the deal: the Animas hit 5500 cfs today, and it could get higher tomorrow. Instead of worrying about it, why don’t we just try new things. Why not try out Barr’s Meat Whistle. The Meat Whistle has been one of those flies that we like to recommend and most people like to disregard. I know it looks weird and I know it was developed for bass. Trust us, you should be fishing this fly during high water for trout.
Heck you should just have a few of these all the time for trout, bass, carp, or pike. Please, don’t disregard it.
Or even better, learn to tie it yourself!
Kyle – I don’t think runoff is going to end until mid July.
Andy – Don’t be dumb, fish the meat whistle this year. Seriously. Plus, it has a funny name.
