Animas Lunch Report – 6/29/15 – Highland Mary’s Lakes
Andy made the trek up to Highland Mary’s Lakes this past weekend…only to find them still mostly covered in ice and plenty of snow to trudge through. The fishing was not so great. The high country still has some snow to deal with, but runoff is subsiding slowly but surley.
Charlie, on the other hand, made a decision to find some views of a different variety. Let’s just say his high country fishing was far more successful…
John…well let’s just say that besides trout and stoneflies, John is finding some sweet wildlife over on the Rio:
Andy – The Animas, flowing at 2670 cfs…is fishing…
…streamers my friends, streamers.
Oh, and drakes on the Piedra, PMDs and hoppers on the Dolores, salmonflies and stones on the Rio, and stones on the Upper San Juan. I would wait a few weeks to fish Highland Mary’s though.
