Animas Lunch Report – 7/31/15 – The Heat is On
With the dropping flows and increasing temps, the heat is on. Midday, the Animas the water has been rising above 65 degrees and the fishing is turning off. Please attempt to avoid fishing in the hottest parts of the day, the heat and pressure is not good for trout. More likely than not, a caught trout will be a dead trout.
Concentrate your efforts on the high country lakes and creeks, which are fishing really well. Temps have remained cooler at higher altitudes and afternoon showers have helped out a lot. The local bass and carp fishing has also been great, so get out there!
