Animas Lunch Report – 7/6/15 – It’s Time
After long last, we can finally say that it’s time. It’s time to fish the Animas. While the water may be slightly high, it has been showing great clarity the past few days with consistent hatches of caddis. Expect to see fish on top in the evenings…but most of the big boys have been targeting big and dark streamers.
This guy hammered a black streamer on Spencer’s float trip yesterday.
Andy – For real though, it’s time to fish the Animas. I fished lunch today and caught this 22″ beefcake in fast water on an black Circus Peanut. The river is fluctuating around 1500 cfs, pending weather, this trend should continue. Go huck meat!
