Animas Lunch Report – 8/28/15 – The Last Weekend
Well, we are rolling into the last weekend of the summer months. Up next, September (which some of us call our favorite month to be on the water). If you are not heading out for the archery season opener tomorrow, then you should get out and throw some bugs. Let us break down your options in as little words as possible.
San Juan River – Fishing good now, still, and always. BWOs
Animas River – Mornings and evenings. Great BWO hatches with rain. Otherwise, streamers.
Piedra River – Get up high for cooler water. Stoneflies always.
Rio Grande River – Fall wade and float fishing is great right now. Streamers are slaying fish. Watch for BWOs.
Dolores River – Hoppers above, hoppers below. Hoppers.
Los Pinos River – A good hike to leave the crowds behind. The farther you hike, the more cutties you will find.
High Mountain Creeks – Still fishing great, attractor dries of course.
Lakes – Bass, trout, carp. Pike are picking up going into September too!
