Independents Week
Independents Week 2015 came and went this past 4th of July week.
I know, it’s spelled Independence; but here in La Plata county, our regional Local First also likes to celebrate something called Independents Week along with the Fourth of July.
Independents Week is smaller on the scale of celebrations here in Durango. I don’t know if anyone really knows what it is to be honest.
[blockquote link=”http://local-first.org/programs/independents-week/” link_title=”Independents Week” target=””]During the week of July 4th, Local First hosts ‘‘Independents Week’’ in celebration of our nation’s locally owned, independent businesses. This nationwide campaign is designed to recognize the importance of economic democracy and community self-determination.[/blockquote]
We can get down with this.
Recognizing the importance of the local small business is something we, as a local small business, appreciate.
It’s not easy being a small business. It’s not easy being independently owned. It’s certainly not easy being a destination fly shop. With much of the deck stacked against us in a world where the cost of doing business rises with each year, it’s good to know that there are still many people who value better service over a better deal.
If you have stopped in the shop this summer (or any summer) to talk fishing and purchased a few flies from us:
Thank you.
If you have fished with us on a guided trip in the past 31 years of Duranglers business:
Thank you,
If you have every purchased any item from us in store or online:
Thank you.
If you have ever joined us on a hosted trip to any national or international destination:
Thank you.
We appreciate all your support and look forward to serving Southwest Colorado fly anglers for many years to come!
