Animas Lunch Report – 4/4/16 – Really Damn Good
The past few weeks, the Animas has been fishing really damn good. Good baetis hatches with fish up in the water column eating emergers and even a few rising. Midges in plenty too. Not to mention the streamer bite has been pretty great as well. Let us hope this trend continues.
In the meantime, we are seeing higher temps, and with higher temps comes higher flows. Look for the Animas to begin it’s annual discoloration with low elevation snowmelt. Make sure you look for those cooler days where the water begins to clear if you want to get out for a few hours. Here are just a few shots from of the past few weeks of fishing the Animas which show why we love this river so much.
