Animas Lunch Report – 6/22/15 – The Livin is Easy
Currently in Durango, despite high water:
Andy – Bugs have begun to pop on the Rio and the water is clear enough that fish are beginning to eat dries. Expect this trend to get better with the next few days. However, the Animas is still high and off color at 4400 cfs today.
How about a few recommendations for spots to go fish right now (water may be high but is fishable):
- The San Juan below Navajo Dam
- Vallecito Reservoir
- Pastorius Reservoir
- The Upper Piedra and tributaries
- The Lower Dolores
- Conejos River
- South Fork of the Rio Grande
- Summit Reservoir
- High mountain creeks (still high, but clear and worth a cast with a hopper dropper)
