Buy a Sage MOD, Get a Free Rio Line and MOD Pen

Running from June 14th to June 25th we are offering up a sweet MOD promo with our friends from Sage.  The MOD is a family of rods that we are really excited about, especially living here in trout country.  The MOD is one of the finest presentation tools in our quiver, and this rod is one that we grab time and again as we head out to the water.  We could say more, but check out our MOD review.

So the deal is this: buy an MOD model from now until June 25th, and we will throw in ANY Rio fly line at no additional cost (our favorites are the Gold or Perception for the MOD).  We will also set you up with a proof of sale of the rod that will qualify you for a free MOD pen shipped from Sage.  Now don’t balk at the pen!  It’s a pretty sweet pen made out of the same graphite blank materials the MOD fly rod.

This deal makes for a pretty sweet gift for Dad too on Father’s Day!

To better understand how versatile this rod family is, here is a quick summary of how we fish the MOD models in our area:

  • 290-4 – This has become one of our favorites for tight line nymphing in smaller water.  When less rod length is needed for Euro nymphing, this rod is it!  Also a great dry fly rod for finicky midge eating trout or high country creeks and lakes.
  • 390-4 – Another great small Euro stick.  We love fishing this rod with dry flies on the San Juan and into the High country.  Great for smaller traditional nymph rigs as well.  Taking this one to the farm pond with small poppers for bass and bluegill is a hoot too.
  • 490-4 – Our favorite San Juan and tailwater rod, hands down.  This one handles dries and nymph rigs necessary for the Juan with ease.  We have also been known to fish hoppers and small streamers with this one.
  • 590-4 – The perfect all around trout rod, from the high country lakes to big rivers, dry flies to medium sized streamers.  The 5 weight was made with Colorado trout in mind.

FOR ONLINE ORDERS – Let us know in the shipping notes on the checkout page what fly line you would like.  Please note we are limited to in-stock fly lines only.  We will also send your proof of purchase to Sage and you will receive the pen at the shipping address you provide in a separate package.
